10 Places to Go 10 Minutes from the Dome

As the tailgating comes to an end and the crowd starts to disperse, everyone with tickets heads to the Superdome for the game. So where do you go now?  Cheering on the Saints doesn’t have to be only in the Superdome. Here are some places that are within ten minutes from the Dome that give you the best game day experience with drink specials, flat screen TV’s and great food.

1. Vitascope Hall (in the Hyatt Regency Hotel)

After the Saints pre-game, stop by and enjoy watching the game on their 42” flat screen TVs, and become a DJ with their interactive app that allows you to play your favorite songs.

At this downtown funk spot, reap all the benefits of game day Sunday where you can watch the game and indulge in game day specials.

3. Walk-Ons Bistreaux & Bar

The acclaimed number one sports bar is conveniently just blocks away from the Superdome. Aside from watching the game from multiple flat screen TV’s, you can also try their Sunday Funday specials which include: $10 Mimosa Pitchers, $3 Bloody Marys, and two-for-one drinks.

Have no fear, you will feel you have your own personal TV here. Manning’s offers more than 30 flat screen TVs, including a 13’x7.5’ mega-screen. Just to up the game day experience a notch, the bar also has a sports anchor desk and unique memorabilia from Louisiana's first football family (the Mannings, of course).

5. Club XLIV

Pregame or later, watch the game at Champions Squares’ swanky club.  Club XLIV wants you to pregame like a VIP before every Saints game. The club offers a premium complimentary cocktail ($10 value) with  the $10 price of admission (cash only). Looking for a restaurant that will tailgate with you and let you watch the game after? Well if you haven’t heard, Allegro is the place to go. Traditionally the restaurant tailgates before every home game at Ground Zero of the Who Dat Nation, and then moves the party back to their restaurant on Poydras.  At the tailgate the chefs make fresh food off the grill and have ice cold beer.
