Volunteers Needed for Hurricane Ida Relief Giveaway This Sunday

The Rotary Club of New Orleans is co-sponsoring a hot meal and relief supplies giveaway and is need of volunteers to help them.

The giveaway is this Sunday, September 19, at Chung's Heavenly Café, located at 607 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace, LA. The club is asking for 10 to 15 volunteers to help with distributing hot meals and donated goods, as well as organizing donations.

Anyone looking to volunteer should show up at Chung's Heavenly Café for 11 a.m. to begin prep and organizing. Distribution of the food and supplies will run from 2 p.m. until everything is gone.

If anyone would like to donate supplies for the Ida Relief Efforts, the Rotary Club of New Orleans has a list of needed supplies:


· Mops

· Bleach

· Buckets

· Clorox Wipes

· Sponges

· Push Brooms

· Rubber Dish Gloves

· Contractor Trash Bags

· Damp Rid

· D Batteries

· AAA Batteries

· White Vinegar


If you have some of these items and would like to donate them for the relief effort, you can either bring the supplies with you to the giveaway in LaPlace or drop the supplies off at the First Universalist Church. Since the church is collecting supplies for several organizations, all supplies for the club needs to be labeled as follows:
