Poppy Tooker Signs Her New Tujague's Cookbook
Poppy Tooker is the host of the radio show Louisiana Eats!, and a well-known writer, historian, and cooking expert. She is the author of several books and articles about food and history, and can Throwdown a better gumbo than Bobby Flay. Her newest book-- just released this week-- is titled Tujague’s Cookbook, Creole Recipes and Lore in the New Orleans Grand Tradition. It’s a hardcover masterpiece full of 160 years of history, ghost stories, beautiful photographs and, of course, recipes, from New Orleans’ second oldest restaurant, Tujague’s. On Tuesday October 27, Ms. Tooker signed copies of her latest publication at a book-signing event held at the historic institution itself. Her cookbook’s coming out party included books, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and a live brass band.
