Bloomberg News is reporting that RadioShack is thinking of making a deal with Sprint. The deal would close half of its more than 4,000 stores, and sell the rest to Sprint. Many people are not surprised, due to the fact that nobody even understands how RadioShack has survived THIS long.
The saddest part of this potential deal would be the thousands of retail workers RadioShack would have to layoff. RadioShack employs about 27,500 people as of Dec. 31, 2013. The company’s market cap is at a weak $28 million, and is only going down from there.
