On October 2, there will be a nationwide “National Dine Out Day” to support relief for hospitality workers affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Participating restaurants are heeding the cause to join the efforts of the Hurricanes Harvey and Irma Employee Relief Fund and local area food banks. For one meal, you can choose any donation amount that you see fit. Commander’s Palace has already pledged to donate 10% of the funds. The idea is simple; restaurants sign up and agree to donate a percentage of that night’s receipts to hurricane relief and the money goes to the Louisiana Restaurant Association’s hurricane relief fund. For National Dine Out Day, it is important to note that you can eat for a cause to help the dedicated workers of the hospitality industry and food banks.
