Kellylee Evans: if you don’t know this name, then it’s about time you did. While this Canadian artist might not be quite a household name just yet, she’s gained plenty of fans and fame in both Canada and France. Her just released fourth album, I Remember When, offers bouncy, jazzy notes and a truly impressive voice. The album as a whole can best be described as a mix of classic jazz with a modern and catchy beat. The Canadian jazz and soul singer shows real range as she is clearly able to encompass all genres of music throughout I Remember When. While each track is extremely likeable, the stand-out songs are “My Name Is” and “I Remember When,” the album’s title track. While each song is different, they express Evans’ soft, jazzy tone. “My Name Is,” in particular, gives listeners something they can really tap their toes to. Evans is the ultimate triple threat- singer, songwriter, and a mother of three – and is the classic example of the woman who has it all. And just when you think there might be an end to your envy, give a listen to I Remember When, and you’ll realize that she’s also a true and timeless talent as a musical artist.
