We’re rolling right into Jazz Fest week 2. Your WYAT writers will be just outside the gates each day handing out to you our new issue featuring Big Al Carson, so stop by and say hello before you go in!

Siberia is starting off your second Jazz Fest weekend with a curios bang. Kali’s Cabinet of Curiosities comes back with Sammy Tramp from St. Louis, Andrea L. Duhe’, Ratty Scurvics, and many strange sideshow performers on Thursday at 6 p.m. The show is free. Following the sideshow antics are the Hot 8 Brass Band, King James and the Special Men and Boyfriend at 10 p.m. for $12. For you Uptowners, Debauche performs at Carrolton Station at 10 p.m. with the lovely cellist Helen Gillet.

Go loco at Gasa Gasa on Freret Street on Friday night with the Lost Bayou Ramblers and the Mississippi Rail Company at 9 p.m. for $10.

The Louisiana Modified Dolls are raising funds for two great area charities: Pride New Orleans and Lambda Center. On Saturday night at 10 p.m., the Dolls will present their show Hate’s a Drag along with Cherry Brown, Tallulah St. James, Delphine Devereaux, Moonhoar, and more will be entertaining you to help loosen your wallet at Lucky Pierre’s on Bourbon Street. The cover is just $6 for luscious lovelies, live body painting, auctions, raffles, prizes, and so much more.

The Hard Rock Cafe, now located at 125 Bourbon Street, will be hosting a party in support of the musical group The Gillis Silo band on Sunday beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Gillis Silo won the New Orleans' Hard Rock Rising battle of the bands and now must make the vote to join the ranks of the top 25 bands chosen by Hard Rock's worldwide customers. The band's video for "She's My Hurricane" will premier at the free party.

Obey your master at Siberia on Tuesday night with Master, Hate Storm Annihilation, Age of Ares, and locals Abysmal Lord at 10 p.m. for $10.
