On November 15th from 7-9 p.m.The International celebration at the French Market will take place in the French Market's public market buildings along North Peters Street. The Facebook Event page confirms that all vendors will be local with arts & craft, imported goods and found treasures, as is the case with the unique, homegrown products sold daily in the New Orleans' French Market.
7 p.m. marks the beginning of the night's musical entertainment with a performance from Salsa Royale, a salsa group headed by Armando Leduc. At 8 p.m. the sounds of the fest's headliner, New Orlean's own Kumasi Afrobeat Orchestra will plug the inherent buzz of the city with their heavy instrumentals. The orchestra creates their original sound as rooted in ancestral music from West Africa. The Kumasi Afrobeat Orchestra can even be seen in the city performing with legendary Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen (at the Music Box Village).
