Last week, Hollygrove Market and Farm hosted their 8th annual “Party in the Garden” fundraiser, and this year’s result was a dream. Lovely music, fantastic cocktails, and imaginative dishes all made for a truly satisfying evening of fun.
Hollygrove Market and Farm is a community garden and farm, a local produce market and supplier, as well as a hotspot for experience and education with urban farming and healthy lifestyles. The market’s vision originated in 2009 as a way to provide quality produce and goods to those in an area where these necessities were scarce.
Every year, Hollygrove puts on an event within the grounds of the garden, where food, drink, and entertainment are provided by New Orleans’ best and brightest restaurants and artists. For the price of a ticket, patrons gain access to all the food and mixed drinks they desire, as well as being able to spend time in the beautiful garden with other friends of Hollygrove. Garden-goers also get to enjoy live music while participating in silent auctions and raffles, all helping benefit the future of the market.
This year, the turnout was amazing and the goods were even better. Everything was so delicious, in fact, that all the food was gone within the first two hours of the party. Contributing food and drink specialists this year included: Paladar 511, La Petite Grocery, Cathead Vodka, Big Easy ‘Bucha, Lahpet, Self Healing Cafe, Good Medicine NOLA, La Monita Pop Up, NOLA Brewing, Down on the Bayou, Fest Cola, Amaris Catering, Vegan New Orleans, Pachamama’s Pantry, Quintin’s Natural Ice Cream, Bao & Noodle, Liberty Cheesesteaks, A Londoner’s Kitchen, Barcelona Tapas, Greek Girls Rice Pudding, Charlie’s Sausage, Cajun Dough Works, Gonzo’s Smokehouse & BBQ, Andi Lynn’s Elderberries, Kranz Coffee, & Ralph’s on the Park. Music was provided by Chris Mulé and Sam Price of Honey Island Swamp Band.
