The National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and
Tipitina's are asking you to help support their work by sending a prewritten
letter to Congress to help ensure the survival of independent venues and
festivals across the nation, despite the difficult conditions COVID-19 has
brought to the industry.
"We're trying to keep some attention on our industry that's
suffering, and, sadly, there are so many people going through tough times,"
Brian Greenburg, Tipitina's general manager, said.
To sign the letter to send to Congress, visit SaveOurStages.com. "The link will automatically
populate with your senators and Congressional representative, based on your zip
code," the website reads.
Without support, NIVA's independent venues, festivals, and
promoters across America will be forced to close their doors. Louisiana Live Music
Club members that need your help keeping their doors open include the Civic
Theatre, Preservation Hall, Republic NOLA, Tiptina's, the Spotted Cat, One Eyed
Jacks, and more.
Signing this letter takes less than 30 seconds, and it means
you could save someone's career or even help keep your favorite venue's doors
open. Asking
our legislators to support and cosponsor the RESTART Act can ensure the
survival of independent venues, festivals, and promoters across the nation.
Due to the pandemic, many people have lost their jobs need
your assistance.
