Always a source of fantastic lesser-known films, the Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Center on the ever-growing Oretha Castle Hayley Boulevard will be showing Frankbeginning on September 5th and running through the 10th. Frank is the story of an aspiring musician who joins a band with a singer who always wears a large plastic head. The films will show mostly at 7:30 p.m. for regular ticket prices. Songstress Tonya Boyd-Cannon will be belting it out at The Old U.S. Mint beginning at 8 p.m.
Stand-up comedy nights are spreading, and it’s going all the way out to the Twist of Lime in Metairie. One Nerd Stand will feature sets by four comedians on Saturday, September 6 at 9 p.m. for $5.
The goth party-thrower extraordinaires Attrition is proudly hosting Italy’s gothrock band The Spiritual Bat featuring Ashkelon Sain with locals Shrapnihil and DJs Sneauxball and Saturnine on Sunday, September 7 at 10 p.m. for $5.
