Disney Springs to Reopen This Week

By: Sofia Gomez Alonso

Disney Springs, a part of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, has announced its reopening for today, May 20, following the implementation of a set of measures aimed at ensuring the health of the guests in coordination with guidelines established by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other government agencies. The list of sites that will be operating include several shopping and dining locations.

Disney Springs recognizes the risk of COVID-19 and encourages guests to access the facilities with their own precautions. The plan for reopening includes several safety measures that will lead guests to enjoy a safe experience despite the outbreak. Some of the measures include requiring all guests ages three and up, cast members, and employees to wear a face-covering mask at all times except when dining, as well as rigorous temperature screenings to be conducted upon arrival at the site. Parking and entrances will also be restricted and monitored, and cashless transactions will be encouraged in order to minimize contact between guests. Additionally, several cleaning and sanitation stations have been installed in high-traffic areas of the site, and cast members and employees have received training in order to abide by the new health measures.

Disney Springs requests that people be patient and understanding as they navigate the best way possible to operate safely while providing a magical experience for their guests during these unprecedented times.
