Boudin King Cake is a Real Thing!

We have a lot of interesting food trends in New Orleans: Yakamein, gourmet donuts, crawfish…you name it we got it.  However, a South Louisiana man, Robert Carriker (aka Dr. Boudin) may have topped all of those in time for Mardi Gras.

A Boudin & Cracklin King Cake.  Mr. Carriker originally posted this creation on his site, boudinlink.com, not thinking too much of it.  As Megan Wyatt at The Advertiser details, in 2015 demands for this creation began to flow in from all over Louisiana and the rest of the country.  In fact, the demand was so high for his creation, Mr. Carriker was forced into going to a local bakery, Twins Burgers and Sweets, to look for a partnership opportunity.

Fortunately, the partnership worked out and Mr. Carriker and Billy Guilbeaux (Owner of Twins Burgers and Sweets) began to take orders again for the decadent King Cake.  With boudin on the inside and Steens Cane Syrup and Cracklin from Earl’s Cajun Market drizzled on top, this King Cake is a can’t miss Mardi Gras treat.

Place your 2016 order now before it is too late.
