Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles Series to Premiere on Hulu

00:00 November 30, -0001

Confirmed by Christopher Rice via his mother’s Facebook page on Tuesday morning (July 18, 2018), fans will be delighted to know that their beloved 18th-century French nobleman-turned-vampire, Lestat de Lioncourt, is coming back to screen (cell phone, computer, and TV screen, if you’ve downloaded Hulu’s app).

The most memorable time he appeared in film was the 1994 Oscar-nominated "Interviews with A Vampire" film starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Kirsten Dunst. Now the streaming service Hulu and production companies Paramount Television and Anonymous Content will have the job of bringing us back (with high quality) into Rice’s world of Gothic decadence.

Christopher and Anne Rice will be executive producers of the series, with Christopher Rice also receiving a screenwriting credit. Though a target premiere date and cast list has yet to be released, 11 books from The Vampire Chronicles series are optioned into the deal.

Having started a pop-cultural phenomenon for all things vampiric in 1976 with "Interview with A Vampire" (the first book in The Vampire Chronicles), we can expect the passion to rise again.
