                You can celebrate Independence Day in a variety of places around town this weekend--here’s a list of what’s going in New Orleans, Metairie, Mandeville, Madisonville, Abita Springs and Slidell!

July 3rd:

Lafreniere Park in Metairie is hosting the Uncle Sam Jam on July 3rd. This free event has live music beginning at noon, with performers including Lonestar and Josh Turner. Fireworks begin at 8 p.m. 

City Park is hosting Happy 3rd of July. From 5:30 until 9 p.m, this event features a performance by the Marine Corps Band New Orleans and fireworks from the Peristyle at 9 p.m.

July 4th:

Head out to the Riverfront for Go 4th on the River to see a fireboat show and a fireworks display at night at 9 p.m.  

On the Northshore, Mandeville is hosting Celebration on the Lake. Food and drink will be available to purchase, and live entertainment by Rick Sampson and Four Unplugged begins at 5 p.m.; the evening concludes with fireworks over Lake Ponchartrain. 

Madisonville is hosting an Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration with a parade, apple pie contest, and horseshoe tournament on the Riverfront in Madisonville. 

Abita Springs' Fourth of July Celebration features live music from the band Five Finger Discount and a fireworks display

  The Slidell Heritage Festival runs from 4 p.m. through 11 p.m. and has live music from performers like Amanda Shaw and a fireworks display. The event has an $8 entry fee, with kids under 12 free with a paying adult.
