10 Runners Complete 7 Marathons in 7 Days

And you think you had a long week?

According to Runnersworld.com, 10 competitors from around the globe completed in the 2015 World Marathon Challenge which consists of seven marathons in seven days in seven continents last week. The races were run in the following order: Union Glacier, Antarctica; Punta Arenas, Chile; Miami, Florida; Madrid, Spain; Marrakech, Morocco; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Sydney Australia.

The entrance fee for the competition was around $36,000 and only allows a maximum of 12 participants. This year, two of the runners opted for the half marathon option.

The overall winner goes to the person with the fastest cumulative time.  This years win goes to David Gething of Hong Kong, but a notable mentions is given to Marianna Zaikova of Finland, the first and only woman to complete the marathon version of the race.
