It’s important to love the skin you’re in and be comfortable with who you are, but also to have the ability to make a statement. On June 10, you will have the opportunity to challenge your level of comfort while making such a statement. The World Naked Bike Ride takes place on Saturday, June 10, beginning at 4 p.m., in the Marigny, Bywater, and French Quarter. The dress code is “As Bare As You Dare.”

The Naked Bike Ride is an international and annual event. The founder of the New Orleans branch of the naked franchise, Sebren V. Strother, believes that the event is a way to show how vulnerable a bicyclist can be. The group's slogan is “Can you see me now?” and is directed towards motorists who place bicyclists in very dangerous situations. But you don’t have to be a cyclist to join the movement. The only rule to participate is that no motorized vehicles are allowed.

Following the event, there will be a clothing-optional after-party at Castillo Blanco Art Studios with a $10 admission fee. For additional information follow them on Facebook here.
