The Press Club of New Orleans has declared WhereYat.com the 1st place winner in the "best news website" category! The title was received on July 9 at the 2016 Excellence in Journalism Awards Gala at the Marriot Convention Center.
Upon learning of the award, those working within Where Y'at have felt especially grateful for the opportunity to be recognized. “We have invested a lot of energy and resources to building WhereYat.com to be New Orleans’ premier website,” says Publisher Josh Danzig. “Special thanks to our web developers Dynamix Web Design for helping us produce a site that has won multiple local, national, and even international awards for the functionality and usability of the site...both for the mobile and desktop versions. It’s an honor to now be recognized by our peers in the New Orleans Press Club and to have won 1st Place for a News Website in the Digital Media realm.”
The Press Club of New Orleans was created in 1957 in order for members (journalists and those within the communications fields) refine their capabilities within their profession through monthly meetings, seminars, and maintaining close relationships. In turn, the organization commends those who excel within the print, digital and broadcast media.
The Excellence in Journalism Awards includes a variety of other categories featured on the list as well, including web graphics and animation, best radio show and weathercast to name a few.
