PngZMR Awards - ZMR Awards

You’ve got a few chances left to see the show that is creating a huge buzz all over town. War Horse is the sentimental story of a boy who tosses himself into the unforgiving world of trench warfare to find his beloved horse, Joey, who was sold to the British Army. More than just a story of this bond, War Horse explores the futility of war, and how people are simple creatures who need love and kindness, not just ruthless war machines.

Depending on your revelries on Friday night, keep your agenda clear for midnight, the Circle Bar is hosting Burlesque Midnight for $10 and featuring an all-star cast with GoGo McGregot, Bella Blue, and many more.

The vampires are convening at the fourth annual Fangtasia taking place at One Eyed Jacks on Saturday night. Tickets are $25 at the door for 69 Cats, Clockwork Elvis, dancers, fangs, and more. That old Sailor Jerry is celebrating the birthday of Katey Red at Siberia at 10 p.m. for $12. The Joy Theater is again the host of the most unique music award show happening in New Orleans. ZoneMusicReporter.com will award the top new age, ambient, and neo-classical musicians from across the globe at the 10th Annual ZMR Awards at 7:30 p.m. for $40. You will not only be treated to an elegant awards ceremony complete with samples of each nominee, there will be plenty of live music from 2002, David Arkenstone with Charlee Brooks, Lisa Downing, The Wooden Wings, and many more.

Your vampire weekend doesn’t end with Fangtasia. The goth dance party group Attrition is hosting the hottest vampire musician, Voltaire, at Siberia on Sunday night at 10 p.m. for $12. And there’s more for the darker souls: Deathhammer from Norway performs with Evil Army, Six Pack, and Warhead on Tuesday at 10 p.m. for $10.
