This Will Destroy You at One Eyed Jacks

This Will Destroy You played their first official show in New Orleans at One Eyed Jacks on Thursday, November 6. Their two previous shows, one at the Saturn Bar in 2010 and another at Siberia in 2012 never really felt like "true" New Orleans shows. The One Eyed Jacks show was the band's first comprehensive effort in the city.

The San Marcos, Texas post-rock band was formed in 2005. Their soundscapes are vast and take you on an amazing roller coaster ride. The name of the band would almost make you think they were a metal band and by no means are they. TWDY are touring in support of their latest effort, Another Language. The atmosphere, much like them music was dark and gloomy. The projection the band provided was static, 4am tube television-old syfy style that interacted with random notes. The music on disc has a distinct feeling and amplified a million times over when played live. The genre is best heard live and TTWD have it nailed down.
