The xx Extend U.S. Tour Dates Including New Orleans in Oct.

English band, the xx, while on the last legs of their U.S. tour will return stateside to perform special, select headline dates and festival performances this fall, including a performance here in the Crescent City at Champions Square on Thursday, October 19. Tickets go on pre-sale on May 16. 

Formed in Wandsworth, London, the band released their debut album, xx, in August 2009. Highly ranked on several of the best of 2009 lists, xx was highly successful, winning the Mercury Prize in 2009. Now, finishing the tour of their latest album, I See You, xx will make several stops in the U.S. to perform headline events.

Fall dates for xx performances include shows on September 29 in Los Angeles and October 9 at the Red Rocks in Colorado. The band will also perform at the Austin City Limits festival, Life is Beautiful and much more. For more information and presale ticket information, visit thexx.info/tour. 

The most anticipated event, however, will be the band’s performance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” this Thursday, May 18 preceding shows on May 19 and 20 at Forest Hill Stadium in Queens, New York.

The band has also just announced a special installment of their Night + Day Festival, set for July 14-16 at Iceland’s Skogafoss waterfall outside of Reykjavik.
