On Thursday, January 11, 2018, The Ruby Slipper Café and Headquarters is opening a new location in Mid-City New Orleans. The Ruby Slipper is hosting a ceremonial ribbon cutting and second line parade for their grand opening. Guests are welcomed to enjoy breakfast and stay for the grand opening celebrations which start at 11 a.m.

The Mid-City location is situated in a two-story brick building between Banks and Palmyra Streets. The historic building is placed along the Broad Corridor and can serve a little over 100 guests. The 4,900 square foot building used the National Park Service to direct the architects in conserving the historic structure. The original key features of the building that was once used as the Carpenter’s Union Meeting Hall have been revamped while keeping its historic theme. The project began on April 5, 2015, and was completed in December 2017.

The Ruby Slipper Café is a local favorite for brunch and has been voted first place by Where Y'at readers several times for “Best Brunch Spot."
