The Bon Temps Relay Offers a Unique Drinking Game Experience

By: Jordan Haber

In a city overflowing with alcohol-centric events, the Bon Temps Relay offers a unique drinking experience locals and tourists alike can enjoy. Part pub crawl and part scavenger hunt, the relay sends teams of 2 to 6 on a wild goose chase to different bars, landmarks, and hotels between the Warehouse District and CBD. Teams will check in at 12:30 p.m. where they will receive their participation wristbands. Home base will also serve as the locale for both pregame and postgame celebrations. Directions to the next location will be provided through a series of clues. Each stop along the way will be accompanied by a signature item or activity, which the team must photograph in order to progress. Cocktails will either be provided or available for purchase at a discounted rate at several venues. Challenges will take place within a 5 to 6 block radius, teams may only travel by foot or otherwise risk disqualification. Experience the city’s best bars and restaurants outside of the famous French Quarter.  Participate in a friendly competition to support local businesses—or to show off your legendary pong skills. Prizes will be awarded to the first two teams to complete the race and to the team with the best costume. Tickets are on sale online through Friday, August 18 for $15 and you must be 21 or older to participate.
