Selena Gomez Rocks the Smoothie King Center

Selena Gomez has come a long way since her time at Disney on Wizards of Waverly Place. She managed to amass a decent movie and TV career since those days, and the next logical step-- as has been the case of many a former Disney star-- was to go into music. With two solo albums in hand and three with the Scene, Gomez brought her Revival tour to the Smoothie King Center. While I’m not a fan, I couldn’t help but want to see what all the buzz was about. The SKC was nearly sold out and was embedded with all the markings of the evening’s main event. To say this was a major production would be a massive understatement. Selena and her dancers and band, which appeared in the background, crafted out a performance piece that included several costumes and set changes. The band being in the background afforded Selena and company the full advantage of taking over the stage. I never saw the Beatles for obvious reasons (too young), but can tell what kind of experience they must have been having on stage as I stood in the middle of all those screaming Gomez fans.
