Going "Batty"

A New Mexico resident, and Walmart employee, is in fear of going "batty" after being attacked by a bat that has tested positive for rabies. The event occurred at a local store, where the bat was found hanging from the basket of a motorized wheelchair. The victim of the attack is currently undergoing a series of vaccinations to inhibit the spread and effects of rabies.

Currently the customer for whom the bat was removed may have come into contact with the animal and is still being sought out for potential treatment. Rabies flourishes among animals who have not been vaccinated and can be fatal. This event is also a cause to spread awareness for regularly vaccinating all pets, no matter how large or small.
