AJ and Anna Tusa's latest restaurant is an upscale take on a classic concept: a New Orleans seafood joint with an emphasis on quality and freshness. The pair recently announced the grand opening of Lafitte's Landing Seafood House, at 1700 Lapalco Blvd. in Harvey. Only the latest addition to their roster of restaurants (the pair own New Orleans Creole Cooker, The Crazy Lobster, and three other eateries in New Orleans and Florida), Lafitte's will offer classic New Orleans seafood, whether you want it boiled, steamed, or fried.

The restaurant is set to feature raw and chargrilled oysters, soft shell crabs, and other fresh seafood, including lobster, shrimp, and a variety of shrimp. To compliment the old standards, the Tusas will also be serving their own unique takes on seafood. Intriguingly named dishes like Duck Lafitte and Redfish Ponchartrain are sure to attract those in search of a new take on Creole cuisine, while standbys like Jambalaya, Crawfish Etoufee, and Shrimp and Grits fill out the menu, along with filet mignon and crisp , freshly prepared salads.

Lafitte's Landing will also feature desserts and cocktails. On the sweet side, Bananas Foster Cheesecake, White Chocolate Bread Pudding, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte aim to please. As for booze, the bar includes classic cocktails and new takes on old favorites, like a Cajun Bloody Mary and the Lafitte's Landing Punch.

“We are excited to present a fresh and flavorful menu featuring all the crown jewels of the sea prepared New Orleans-style,” said the Tusas. “Lafitte’s Landing Seafood House offers an exciting, new option on the Westbank in a familiar location that has been completely renovated to create a dynamic and energetic dining experience.” Pictures of the space are available on the restaurant's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/lafitteslanding, and reservations are available at 504-252-9613.
