According to Nola.com, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Foundation, as well as AEG Live are being sued for failure to provide ample access to disabled festival goers, per the issue which was brought up in a settlement in December of 2001.

Said agreement states that the festival must train staff to work with people with disabilities, must provide sign language interpreters, shuttles for transportation, restrooms, and seating.

Mitchell Miraglia, a quadriplegic affected by cerebral palsy, has made several claims towards his lawsuit against the festival foundation, including that numerous routes towards various parts of the festival are inaccessible to people with disabilities.

Over the past 15 years, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival foundation has made several updates to construction to further aid those with disabilities, but Miraglia believes there is sill much more to be done.
