New Art Exhibit Opens at The Old No. 77 Hotel, Just in Time for White Linen Night

By: Kathy Bradshaw

In honor of the upcoming White Linen Night, guests joined the Where Y’Art team at the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery Thursday night for a cocktail and a preview of their new exhibit, Art Crush I. The exhibit is said to “explore the thrill of finding The One—be it a piece of art, a place or another.” With pieces made with all different media, from paintings to woodworking, Art Crush I features such artists as Emma Fick, Sean Clark, Leroy Miranda Jr., Connor McManus, Debbie Boyd, and Holly Sudduth. It was curated by local artist and designer Dabito, who teamed up with West Elm to focus on the potential home décor elements of the art work.

Come check out the exhibit at the hotel and enjoy cocktails (including artist-themed frozen daiquiris) and music by the Cole Williams Band during White Linen Night on Saturday August 5, from 7 to 10 p.m. Or, check out the second part of the exhibit, known as Art Crush II, at the Where Y’Art gallery on Royal Street during Dirty Linen Night on August 12.

Where Y’Art is a collective of artists and art enthusiasts who love art and love New Orleans. They create, promote, buy, sell, or just appreciate art. Learn more at their gallery or at whereyart.net.
