Palcohol, the powdered alcohol that when mixed with water is supposed to be the equivalent of a drink or shot, may never hit the shelves. Especially if lawmakers have their say.

According to the Consumerist, some states, such as Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, and Louisiana are considering banning powdered alcohol before it even becomes a registered product. These states are considering this ban out of concerns that it could increase underage drinking.

The company behind Palcohol says it will not be available until the spring of 2015 at the earliest. The creators say the powder is meant to make drinking convenient when carrying liquids may not be a possibility, like on a hike or plane ride.
