Stephanie Cochran, one of Ernst Café’s favorite bartenders is proud to announce she is expecting a baby boy, Cain Edward Cochran. However, Cain was diagnosed with a rare set of heart defects that require open heart surgery just weeks after his birth, and two more surgeries before his 4th birthday.
The 100-year-old Warehouse District restaurant is holding an event to raise money for their valued employee on April 24th, which will cover Cochran’s medical expenses. 10% of sales that day, as well as tips, will be given to her directly. There will also be an auction of local specialty packages to benefit Cochran.
Jim Besselman, President of the New Orleans chapter of the Louisiana Restaurant Association, claimed, “We are asking for any and all business to offer up anything they can, a gift card package, a hotel stay, dinner packages, bar tab, etc…it all helps.”
An award-winning bartender who takes care of her city, there is no one who deserves this help more than Cochran. “Stephanie is a 5-star employee and more importantly an even better person and fantastic mother,” said Casey Starr, GM of Ernst Café. Several local businesses have already promised their support including Republic National Distributing, Absolute Vodka, The Apres Lounge, iHeart Media, The Omni Riverfront Hotel, Where Y’at Magazine, Fulton Alley, and much more.
