More Fun than a Barrel of Monkeys

Dessert at NOLA

Look out Ben & Jerry’s, NOLA’s pastry chefs are giving you a rum for your money.  Chubby Hubby’s got nothing on NOLA’s “Drunken Monkey” ice cream, made with Myer’s Dark Rum, bananas, chocolate chips, and cashew brittle pieces.  You can have a scoop on its own, or served atop the Elvis, another of NOLA’s heavenly desserts, made up of peanut butter bread pudding, brown sugar bananas and bacon pecan praline.  Another dessert worth its calories in gold is the Ooey Gooey Cake.  It’s warm, ridiculously moist chocolate cake, with a gooey marshmallow center and a touch of coconut, topped with coffee ice cream.   It’s down-right addictive.  Sub a scoop of Drunken Monkey for the coffee, and you’ll never get the monkey off your back.
