Devon Walker x Celebrity Charity Basketball Game

By: Emil Flemmon

The Devon Walker Foundation hosts the second annual Celebrity Charity Basketball Tournament on Saturday June 24 at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse at Tulane University.

For the second year, entrepreneurs and celebrities from the NFL, NBA and the arts will join the foundation for a basketball game, skills challenge and three point shoot out. The event is a family friendly event with photo booth, silent auction, giveaways, concession, dance off, surprise performances and autograph opportunities for kids in addition to the basketball.

Tickets to attend are $10 and available at DevonWalker.org. Children under the age of five will gain complimentary admittance. Walker is a former Tulane football player that suffered a paralyzing spinal injury during a game. He created the Devon Walker Foundation to help others that have spinal injuries gain access to better resources to live a more comfortable life. He serves as an inspiration having earned a bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology and working towards a master’s degree in Neuroscience.

Hosted by Power 102.9's Tara Jae, participants for this year's game will include: Willie Snead (Saints), Jrue Holliday (Pelicans), Thomas Moorestead (Saints), Robert Kelley (Redskins) and a lot more.
