End of the River
Self-released

Brian Hyken & The Wanderlust released their debut EP dubbed End of the River earlier this month and should get rock fans in New Orleans hopeful for a full album sooner rather than later. Composed of five songs, this EP establishes harrowing, psychedelic instrumentals with well-paced lyrical harmony and some quick flashes of strong southern rock roots to balance it all out. Brian Hyken, originally from St. Louis, has been playing around in the New Orleans southern rock scene for a few years, but seems to finally have a collaboration that suits his vocals. The first song, “Not Coming Home,” delivers the most complete sound and range that the band composed their first go around, but every song on the album has some unique flavor. Whether you like a play on psychedelic rock or are just looking for some sweet southern rock, maybe Brian Hyken & The Wanderlust can help you out.
