New Orleans fashion designer Amanda deLeon has created a fashion film, Batibat, as a way to showcase her AW ’15 collection. The short fashion film made its debut on popular fashion site BlackBook and was recently chosen to screen at the Cannes Short Film Festival.

“The name ‘Batibat’ came from a Philippine demon that lives in the woods,” deLeon says. “She reigned over your dreams to ultimately kill you in your sleep.”

Kenny Morrison directed this dark fantasy which was shot in the swamps and forests of Southern Louisiana. deLeon said the idea of the short grew from a six-month period when she was having constant night terrors. The designer took these nightmares and turned them into positive inspiration for this dream-like film.
