Who's your favorite Crescent City street vendor? Taceaux Loceaux? Fat Falafel? La Cocinita? Well, now is your chance to let everyone know at the 2nd Annual 2014 Vendy Awards held Thursday, April 3rd at the New Orleans French Market. This street food competition started out in New York over nine years ago and has since spread it's food-loving tentacles to Los Angeles, Philadelphia. Chicago and most recently New Orleans. The best part of these annual, food-vendor competitions is that they are in fact fundraisers for the non-profit Street Vendor Project and, in New Orleans, it also raises money for the New Orleans Food Truck Coalition. A panel of judges will award the Vendy Cup to the best food vendor and attendees will pick the winner of the coveted People’s Choice award.
